Hello, I'm Morné Lombard

I like building things, understanding how they work, and occasionally asking too many questions about how businesses operate day to day.

Below you'll find a selection of projects I've worked on over the years. Have a look around.

  • Lunchtime Lingo

Lunchtime Lingo: Language learning for real-life relocation

    Web app

    Visit website

Lunchtime Lingo helps people relocating to a new country learn the local language through immersive, real-life conversation practice instead of traditional grammar drills. Learners work through scenarios like house buying, bank visits, doctor's appointments and job interviews in short 5-20 minute sessions, starting in their native language and progressing toward the target language. Native pronunciation is available via text-to-speech, and words can be tapped for translations, saved for review, and conversations exported as PDFs.

  • Sleepy: Quiet a restless mind

iOS app (Android app coming soon)

Sleepy guides you to visualize purposefully crafted audio patterns in your mind to help you fall asleep faster. By keeping your thoughts engaged, your busy mind tires and naturally drifts into sleep which helps you calm racing thoughts and ease insomnia.

  • Packing List: Round Trip

    iOS app

With the Round Trip Checklist app, you can easily create reusable checklists. This is particularly useful when you have a list of items when you're going somewhere, but want to use the same list of items when you return to make sure you take everything back with you.

  • BTS Revenue Assurance

BTS Revenue Assurance Portal: Comprehensive cell tower monitoring solutions.

    Web app

    Visit website

The BTS project is quite a large project with multiple smaller services that all work together to provide clients with a real-time overview of all their cellphone towers located across the country. It also involves the reading for meters remotely and using that data to produce energy consumption statements so that tower owners know how much they need to recover from their tenants, as well as how much they owe the landlords.

  • RemoteConfigs

    RemoteConfigs: Centralized app configuration management

    Web app (discontinued)

RemoteConfigs is a project built to assist developers with website changes and application settings. Developers can store their application settings and configurations with RemoteConfigs and call the RemoteConfigs API from within their applications in order to retrieve their configurations. This makes it possible to make website or app updates without the need to recompile en redeploy the code.

  • Kisby

Kisby: On demand software development support

    Web app (discontinued)

Kisby is a web application built with a MEAN stack. It allows developers who are currently facing code blockers or issues, to request instant live support from agents who will be able to assist them, at the developer’s own rate. The agents provide support right from inside Slack since most developers already have Slack open on a daily basis. Support sessions are timeboxed, which makes it fair for everyone involved.

  • Pesa Palace

    Pesa Palace

    Web app (discontinued)

Pesa Palace is an online gambling website that delivers live casino, lotto, virtuals and bet games to punters.

  • Ruby Home

    Ruby Home

    Web app

Ruby Home is a personal side project I did to learn more about IoT, home automation, learning Arduino and to automate my house as much as possible.
